It's the Right Thing To Do
By Nancy Nehlsen - Owner 3.9.10
We are so fortunate to have clients we really like doing business with. Our clients are truly good people trying to make a difference in the world. Marketing is more fun when there’s a purpose and passion behind the work instead of simply a desire to make money.
When we created the “It’s the Right Thing To Do” campaign for the United Association of Plumbers, Fitters and HVAC Technicians, everyone on staff became passionately involved. Our audio guy, Dave Cox, created dynamite original music. Jason and Eric outdid themselves with strong, moving graphics. Lee made the website come alive with a soldier morphing into a welder. Mark let our troops know it was available with a massive PR effort. Our video team put video to music brilliantly, with very little to work with. And I thoroughly enjoyed writing copy that told the story of a great organization doing their part for our troops by helping them transition into civilian life and training them for lucrative careers. Everyone else on staff did their part, too, to spread the word about this great program was available to those who deserve it so much.
When MCA Chicago told us they wanted to help, too, we came up with Heat for Heroes, an integrated campaign promoting a program where HVAC contractors repair heating systems for families of deployed troops in the Chicago area at no charge.
Both of these campaigns gave us the opportunity to really get creative and renew our team spirit through a combined feeling that, yes, even ad people can do their part to make a difference in the world.
