Atomic Fireball + Slo Poke
By Lee Brinckley, Web Marketing Director 11.25.09
What do you get when you put Atomic Fireballs and Slo Pokes together? A non-traditional direct mail campaign.
Recently we launched two non-traditional mailing campaigns for SMACNA Chicago to promote new membership recruitment. The first mailer consisted of Atomic Fireballs and Slo Pokes in a padded envelope with an insert card asking “Are you an Atomic Fireball or a Slo Poke”. The second mailer consisted of Starbucks coffee (Bold Espresso and Decaf), also in a padded envelope, with an insert card asking “Are you Bold Espresso or Decaf”. The point was – if you’re a fireball or Bold Espresso, you naturally want to be a member of SMACNA Chicago, where you will join an elite group of effective and fast-growing contractors. If you’re a Slo Poke or Decaf…well, nevermind.
Both mailers directed the end-user back to the website to encourage them to fill out a specific contact form.
Not only did the mailers bring attention to SMACNA Chicago, but we reaped the benefits of the leftover candy and coffee!
